Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Senior Director of Civil Engineering - Regional Practice Leader to drive growth and excellence across the West Region. The leader will build strong teams, expand client relationships, and deliver strategic outcomes that align with Core States Group’s mission and market opportunities.

The role requires entrepreneurial thinking, strong business judgement, and the ability to influence across offices, disciplines, and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline is required.
• Professional Engineering license is strongly preferred.
• MBA or demonstrated business leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Significant civil engineering leadership experience including responsibility for client relationships, team leadership, program delivery, and financial performance.
• Experience leading national client programs and scaling delivery teams.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including evaluating growth opportunities, staffing, and operational priorities.
• Understanding civil engineering delivery for multi-site, national, or programmatic clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow regional civil engineering practices across the West Region with accountability for client service, team performance, and financial results.
• Develop and execute regional practice strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Strengthen local brand recognition and regional market presence in priority office markets.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing and emerging markets.
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing regional civil engineering teams.
• Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen client relationships by understanding needs and positioning Core States as trusted advisor.
• Partner with market leaders and technical teams to support strategic pursuits and expand regional opportunities.
• Communicate Core States value proposition including integrated delivery, responsiveness, quality, and cost certainty.
• Promote delivery practices related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client communication.
• Use performance data and client feedback to identify trends and improve predictability across the practice.
