Job summary

Core States Group seeks a Senior Director of Civil Engineering - Regional Practice Leader to grow and lead its West Region civil engineering practices. You will build strong teams, expand client relationships, develop leaders, and drive sustainable growth across regional businesses with an entrepreneurial mindset.

The role requires strong business judgment, technical credibility, and the ability to build trust with clients, teams, and executive leadership while scaling delivery and improving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license strongly preferred.
• MBA or demonstrated business leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Significant civil engineering leadership experience including client relationships, team leadership, program delivery, financial performance and operational execution.
• Experience leading national client programs, scaling teams, and managing complex portfolios.
• Strong business and financial acumen for evaluating growth opportunities and staffing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow regional civil engineering practices across the West Region with accountability for client service, team performance, financial performance, quality, and growth.
• Develop and execute regional practice strategies aligned with business objectives and client priorities.
• Strengthen local brand recognition and regional market presence in priority office markets.
• Identify growth opportunities within existing and emerging markets for long-term regional success.
• Mentor and develop high-performing regional teams across offices and disciplines.
• Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Strengthen client relationships by understanding client needs and delivering trusted advisory services.
• Partner with market leaders to support strategic pursuits and expand regional opportunities.
• Communicate Core States value proposition including integrated delivery, responsiveness, and cost certainty.
