Job summary

Signal Centers seeks a dedicated Family Child Care Coach to support family and group child care providers across Tennessee. The role emphasizes coaching, training (in-person and virtual), and technical assistance, with opportunities to contribute to statewide initiatives.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, at least three years in early childhood/education, and the ability to work remotely within TN. Travel and background checks are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, Early Childhood Education, Child & Family Studies, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of three years of early childhood/education experience.
• Direct care experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of QRIS and licensing programs in TN and the role of the Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral Network.
• Ability to train adults using principles of adult learning.
• Physical examination and negative TB test on file with Signal Centers.
• Dependable transportation, valid driver’s license and insurance required.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the Tennessee service area.
• Must be able to work from a remote home environment within TN.
• Background check required to enter and work in child care centers in TN.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance at convenient times, including weeknights or weekends.
• Provide in-person and virtual training in group settings.
• Create and facilitate peer learning groups for family and group child care professionals.
• Conduct onsite visits to family and group child care programs in the service area.
• Assist with planning and delivery of statewide conferences.
• Submit data on training, coaching, and TA within 3 days of service.
• Maintain knowledge of TN QRIS and licensing.
• Support accreditation and CDA credential efforts for providers.
• Collaborate with State agencies and CCR&R networks.
• Attend all required trainings and meetings.
