Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Regional Automation Engineer Manager to lead onsite and regional automation engineers across our fulfillment centers. You will drive equipment reliability, monitor performance metrics, and lead continuous improvement of PLC/SCADA and MHE control systems while mentoring junior engineers.

This role requires deep technical leadership, travel up to 80%, and collaboration with maintenance and operations to deliver fast, accurate order fulfillment for our customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 7+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• 7+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.
• 7+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic and structure programming.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and support region of automation engineers to reduce downtime of critical assets.
• Program and source coding for in-house built solutions based on PLC or PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms.
• Lead a team of engineers in understanding, maintaining and troubleshooting material handling control systems and industrial networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and address performance issues with maintenance/operations.
• Provide regional escalation support during and after business hours to troubleshoot hardware or controls software.
