Job summary

Psomas, an employee-owned engineering, surveying, and construction firm, seeks a Regional Accounting Specialist in Roseville, CA. This full-time role supports billing, contracts, AR/AP and coordinates with project managers and the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate project financials.

The position offers a 3 days in-office / 2 days remote hybrid schedule, opportunities for professional growth, and access to ESOP and 401(k) benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in an Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (A/E/C) environment.
• Knowledge of contract terms (hourly, lump sum, not-to-exceed, cost plus fixed fee) and how they apply in accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects and maintain accurate financial information per contracts and project requirements.
• Prepare monthly billings and final invoice packages, ensuring accuracy and client requirements.
• Assist with contract administration, change orders, modifications, approvals, additional services, and closeout.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to reconcile cash application variances and coordinate consultant invoices.
• Advise Project Managers and project teams on billing, contracts and project accounting matters.
• Work directly with clients to address project accounting and billing questions.
• Apply knowledge of contract types to project accounting activities.
