Job summary

Salvation Army Corp seeks an accounting professional to oversee local command financial operations and ensure GAAP and FASB compliance. You will manage journals, ledgers, and the general ledger, with emphasis on month-end closings and timely reporting to leadership.

You will also monitor cash balances, prepare depreciation schedules, and provide remote support and training to staff while upholding organization policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Admin or related field.
• Four years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the computerized accounting system across local commands.
• Reconcile bank accounts and post journals and ledger activity.
• Prepare depreciation, entries and monthly/ year-end closings.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to leadership.
• Train local staff and assist audits and compliance tasks.
