Job summary

The Salvation Army DHQ Carson office is seeking an Accountant-SC to manage general ledger and reporting for assigned units. You will be the primary liaison with field units for daily transactions and finance-related issues.

Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reviewing cash receipts and AP batches, ensuring accurate postings, and supporting month-end close and reporting. Strong GL and 5+ years of accounting experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 24 sem/30 quarter units.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience with strong general ledger experience.
• Ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries for assigned funds and intercompany general journals.
• Review incoming cash receipts and accounts payable batches, verify GL coding and posting, ensuring timely payments.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing; generate monthly financial statements and reports.
