Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field; four years progressively responsible experience in double-entry accounting; GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, monitors and evaluates the computerized accounting system with the finance staff of assigned local commands; ensures internal controls align with Salvation Army policies and GAAP.
• Monitors daily accounting transactions; reviews and verifies records, journals, ledgers, and cash logs; ensures accuracy of financial reports.
• Monitors cash balances to cover payrolls and drafts; reviews payables, reconciliations and postings to General Ledger; ensures timely reporting.
• Posts journals, reconciles inter-company balances, and assists closing activities at month-end and year-end.
• Establishes processing schedules and ensures bills are paid on time; posts transactions to keep balances up-to-date; supports month-end reporting.
• Provides financial analysis and prepares monthly financial information and reports for the supervisor; travels as needed for review and training.
