Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison among RCC staff, instructors, program partners, members, and participants.
  • Assist with program scheduling, calendars, room assignments, instructor information, and communications.
  • Maintain organized program files, rosters, attendance, contact lists, forms, and other docs.
  • Track participation, attendance, feedback, and other program data for reporting.
  • Support instructors and partners with scheduling, room, equipment, and participant needs.
  • Prepare program materials, sign-in sheets, flyers, surveys, and presentations.
  • Conduct program check-ins and observe activities to identify needs and improvements.
  • Assist with program launches, events, outreach, and partner activations.
  • Provide professional customer service to participants, instructors, and partners.
  • Use Microsoft Office/Teams, ClubReady, email, and approved tools for admin tasks.
  • Participate in team meetings and share updates on assigned programs.
  • Handle participant and program information with discretion per RCC policies.

Roxbury Community College (RCC) is a public institution of higher education offering associate degrees, certificate programs and lifelong learning opportunities to the Greater Boston community. Position Summary

The Reggie Lewis Program Support Assistant supports the planning, administration, coordination, and day-to-day management of programs at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center. This Level II position provides applied experience in program management, professional communication, data tracking, customer service, and organizational operations. The student serves as a consistent point of contact among Reggie staff, instructors, program partners, members, and participants while supporting communication, documentation, scheduling, follow-through, and the overall participant experience.

Learn & Earn Responsibilities
  • Serve as a liaison among Reggie staff, instructors, program partners, members, and participants.
  • Assist with program scheduling, calendars, room assignments, instructor information, participant communications, and routine follow-up.
  • Maintain organized program files, rosters, attendance records, contact lists, forms, and other documentation.
  • Track participation, attendance, feedback, and other program data used for reporting and evaluation.
  • Support instructors and program partners with routine scheduling, room, equipment, and participant needs.
  • Prepare program materials, sign-in sheets, flyers, QR codes, surveys, presentations, and administrative resources.
  • Conduct program check-ins and observe activities to identify operational needs, participant concerns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with program launches, community outreach, special events, and partner activations.
  • Provide professional customer service and respond to routine questions from participants, instructors, and community partners.
  • Use Microsoft Office/Teams, ClubReady, email, and other approved tools to support program administration and communication.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned programs, tasks, and follow-up items.
  • Handle participant and program information with discretion and follow RCC/Reggie policies and procedures.
  • Currently enrolled at Roxbury Community College for the applicable placement period.
  • Meet RCC Learn & Earn eligibility requirements for the approved placement.
  • Maintain good academic standing and any enrollment requirements applicable to the placement.
  • Complete all required student-employment, onboarding, and payroll documentation before beginning work.
  • Work only the approved Learn & Earn schedule and duties assigned by the designated supervisor.

  • Interest in developing leadership, project-management, and professional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, digital forms, scheduling tools, databases, or social media.

Funding & Scheduling Structure

1 Learn & Earn placement(s) are authorized for this role. Scheduling is based on the approved experiential-learning assignment, operational needs, and the student's academic commitments. RCC-funded placements are subject to applicable student-employment work-hour limits, with a maximum of 18.5 hours per week.

Supervision & Performance

The Reggie Lewis Program Support Assistant reports to Demetris Pringle. Students will receive role-specific training, regular supervision, feedback, and professional-development opportunities. Student employees are expected to comply with RCC Student Employment policies and Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center procedures. Performance concerns will be addressed through RCC's progressive intervention process.

Advancement

Students who demonstrate strong performance, reliability, independent problem-solving, project ownership, systems proficiency, and peer leadership may become candidates for future Level III lead or advanced operations/program positions when such opportunities are available.
