United Medical Centers, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician to provide technical support under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. This role involves distributing medications, ensuring compliance with regulations, and demonstrating knowledge of patient age-specific needs.
The ideal candidate must be a high school graduate with certification as a Pharmacy Technician and at least one year of experience in a healthcare environment. CPR certification is mandatory.
Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Pharmacist and with assistance from the Lead Registered Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing technical support in performing various functions that are authorized by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as per the Texas Pharmacy Laws and Regulations including but not limited to: distribution of prepackaged prescribed medications/drugs, pharmaceutical preparations, and cashiering functions. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over a life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those of infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, (i.e. HIPAA), PCMH, DSHS standards and Compliance Performance Improvement (CPI) standards.
