Job summary

South Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Ernest Health, Inc., is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to join our patient‑focused team. The role supports pharmacists with dispensing, drug counting, and prescription data entry in a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent, with state certification/registration preferred and PTCB certification encouraged. Hospital experience is preferred, and confidentiality and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; required unless registered as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Current state certification and Board of Pharmacy registration preferred.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• National certification (PTCB) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves, counts, and measures drugs.
• Assists Pharmacist in price-checking and restocking of drugs.
• Accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer.
• Refers physicians' calls and medical questions to the pharmacist.
• Aligns daily practice with hospital mission and Guiding Principles.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent unless registered by the State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
• Current state certification and registration with the Board of Pharmacy preferred
• Hospital experience preferred
• National certification (PTCB) preferred
