Job summary

Conrad N. Hilton Foundation seeks a Program Officer to advance the Refugees strategy through strategic grantmaking, portfolio management, and field learning.

You will assess potential grantees, support due diligence, monitor performance, and convey learning for portfolio decisions across Colombia, Ecuador, Ethiopia, and Uganda. You will report to the Senior Program Officer, collaborate across the Initiative, and travel to understand local contexts.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in nonprofit, public, philanthropic, or social-impact work.
• Experience in refugee-hosting settings in the geographic focus areas; Uganda/Ethiopia valued.
• Ability to manage a portfolio, assess opportunities, and adapt based on evidence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and cultivate grantees and partners aligned with Refugees Initiative strategy.
• Manage full grant lifecycle: proposals, due diligence, board materials, monitoring, and closeout.
• Collaborate to track progress, learning, and portfolio adjustments.
• Travel for site visits to understand local context and opportunities.
• Prepare board materials and internal/external updates.
