LSI in Waterloo, Iowa is seeking a full-time Childcare Business Specialist for Immigrant and Refugee Community Services.

You will support refugee childcare providers with language-appropriate training, classroom and in-home services, and help ensure DHS health, safety and registration compliance.

This role includes coordinating trainings, attendance tracking, and collaboration with local partners to promote high-quality childcare and business operations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a human service related field with a minimum of 2 years of early childhood or childcare experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field with 1 year of experience in early childhood or childcare services. Additionally, preferred applicants will have experience with DHS rules and regulations for child care providers and experience or knowledge of small business operations.

Responsibilities

• Support refugee childcare providers with language-appropriate training and skill development.
• Provide services to clients in classroom and in-home settings.
• Coordinate interpreted trainings and manage attendance tracking.
• Coordinate classes related to home safety and DHS regulations for childcare.
• Home visiting to support DHS health and safety requirements, business development, quality improvements and referrals.
• Provide administrative support regarding DHS registration, timesheets, paperwork, mail, and business operations.
