Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) seeks a Caseworker to support Immigrant and Refugee Community Services in Sioux City. You will provide case management, advocacy and resource connections to refugee and immigrant clients, helping them develop goals and service plans to achieve personal milestones.

You will meet clients in person or by phone during regular hours, with some evenings and occasional weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health and human services + 1 year of related health and human services experience
• Equivalent education and experience accepted (including Assoc. degree + 3 years)
• Background check including Dependent Adult/Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and criminal history check

What You’ll Do

The Caseworker is responsible for providing supportive services to refugee and immigrant clients including, but not limited to, skill development, case management, advocacy, and resource connection. Caseworkers should know the basics of outcome-based performance measures and be willing to help clients develop goals and facilitate service plans that enable each client to meet their personal goals. Caseworkers will meet with clients in person or via telephone during normal business hours, as well as in the evenings and occasional weekends.

What You’ll Need

Required: Bachelor’s degree in health and human services + 1 year of full time, related health and human services experience. Will also accept equivalent education and experience, including Associate’s degree + 3 years OR a high school diploma/GED + 5 years of related experience.

This position requires a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
