Job summary

GFL Environmental Services seeks an on-site Front-line Leader to oversee safe shift execution in a continuous-process refinery setting. You will coordinate operators, manage alarms, and enforce safety standards during 12‑hour day/night rotations.

Ideal candidates bring 3–7 years of refinery/chemical operations with supervisory experience, strong communication, and rigorous attention to procedures in a high- pace environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education preferred.
• Typically 3–7 years refinery/chemical operations experience with lead/supervisory responsibilities.
• Prior refinery/chemical/terminal or continuous-process manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct shift turnover and ensure clear communication of operating status.
• Coordinate unit operations, alarms response, and field rounds.
• Enforce permit-to-work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and safe work practices.
• Initiate notifications and escalation during process upsets/emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 standards, PSM (29 CFR 1910.119), MOC, and environmental programs.
