Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for referrals, visits, procedures, and testing. You will ensure all referrals are authorized and scheduled, coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and register patients.

You will work with other departments to provide required patient information in electronic format whenever possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of medical experience with insurance verification or referral authorization.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD codes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information and adapt to change.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Check insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for referrals, visits, procedures, and testing.
• Ensure referrals are authorized and scheduled, and verify all necessary patient information.
• Coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and register patients.
• Monitor referrals for loop closure and confirm attendance and receipt of consultation notes.
