Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to verify insurance benefits, obtain prior authorizations for referrals, procedures, and testing, and ensure all incoming referrals are authorized and scheduled.

You will coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and register patients. You will work with other departments to ensure notes and results are provided electronically whenever possible and monitor loop closure of referrals.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/ICD codes.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information.

Responsibilities

• Check insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for referrals, procedures, and testing.
• Ensure referrals are authorized, scheduled, and monitored to loop closure.
• Coordinate appointments and communicate with patients.
• Register patients and ensure electronic transfer of information when possible.
