Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to verify insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations for referrals, visits, procedures, and testing. You will coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and ensure proper registration.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of medical experience with insurance authorization exposure. CPT/ICD knowledge and confidentiality are essential in a changing healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT & ICD codes.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
• Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.
• Ability to work in an environment of continuous change.
• Ability to manage priorities and work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Check insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for outgoing specialist visits, procedures, and testing.
• Ensure all incoming referrals for office visits, procedures, and testing have been authorized and scheduled.
• Coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and register patients.
• Monitor referral loop closure; determine attendance and ensure consultation notes are received or sent.
