Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gathers, verifies and processes referrals, authorizations, and pre-certifications with physicians, patients, and payers
• Answers billing and insurance questions with detailed information for patients
• Sets up appointments and coordinates clinic visits and special arrangements
• Coordinates flow of information between clinic and referral authorization department for valid referrals
• Enters referrals and documents communications in the system
• Notifies physician and patient if referral is denied or needs additional information
• Develops and maintains database of referral offices used by physicians
• Assists Practice Manager with complaint resolution relating to referrals
