Prosser Memorial Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to verify insurance benefits and secure prior authorizations for referrals, visits, procedures, and testing. You will coordinate appointments, communicate with patients, and ensure proper registration.
Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of medical experience with insurance authorization exposure. CPT/ICD knowledge and confidentiality are essential in a changing healthcare setting.
FT, 80 hrs/pp, 1.0 FTE; varies as scheduled.
Responsible for checking insurance benefits and obtaining prior authorizations for outgoing specialist visits, procedures, and testing. Ensuring all incoming referrals for office visits, procedures, and testing have been authorized and scheduled. Additionally, the referral coordinator’s responsibilities include appointment coordination, patient communication, and registering patients.Will work together with other departments and/or organizations to assure all necessary patient information is provided and/or obtained, and in electronic format whenever possible.Ensures all patient referrals are monitored for loop closure; determine patients attended appointments or not and consultation notes have been received or sent.
