Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator to lead the patient access team across scheduling, registration, referrals, and authorization. You will oversee call center operations, ensure accurate data in the EHR, and drive patient flow from admission through discharge.

Under supervision of the Patient Access Director, you will audit performance, report dashboards, train staff, and implement process improvements to deliver compassionate, high-quality customer service

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in healthcare administration focused on patient access or registration.
• Two years of lead or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, related field, or equivalent combination.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Patient Access Director, the Patient Access Coordinator will lead the patient access team and underlying functions, including scheduling, registration, referrals, authorization and call center.This role is responsible for overseeing the flow of patients through the hospital and clinics. The coordinator collaborates with the Director, coordinators and staff to support needs and ensure proper support and customer service as well as providing expertise on patient access workflows.The coordinator works with the Patient Access Trainers, Clinic PSR leads and Clinic Directors to ensure that the team members receive patient access specific training and updates when changes to standards occur.The coordinator develops and maintains workflows to ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is correctly entered in the HER, scheduling is completed accurately, referrals are processed timely and routed appropriately and communication between the patient access team members and clinical departments is successful and efficient.The coordinator conducts audits, review key performance indicators, monitors dashboards and reports, and acts on the information to optimize department functions and resolve problems. The coordinator oversees the work queues of the Patient Access team in partnership with the Patient Access Trainers to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.The coordinator works with the Patient Access director, Revenue Cycle Director and Clinic Directors to resolve claims issues and implement process improvements. Ensure patients are supported through the entire patient care experience by providing excellent quality and compassionate customer service.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare administration with a focus on patient access or registration.
• Two years lead or supervisory experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
