A leading healthcare organization is seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator. The role involves coordinating appointments and referrals, communicating with providers and patients, and requires strong organizational and communication skills. Bluegrass Orthopaedics is hiring a full-time Referral Coordinator. This will be a remote position after a period of in-office training in Lexington, KY.
Basic Function
Performs operator functions at the referral level. Will be required to communicate with top referring providers as well as one-on-one communication with the patient. Will be required to schedule appointments via fax/email and phone calls from referring healthcare offices. Coordinates suitable time to perform the specified outside referral patient care procedure with the appropriate internal patient care provider. Provides clinical staff sufficient information about the patient appointment so they can be properly prepared to provide the service. Obtains the appropriate demographic information about the patient for the business office to begin insurance verification process. Demonstration of the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economical backgrounds to organize, set priorities, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment must be exhibited.

Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. One year previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred

Physical Requirements
1. Good visual acuity, hand-finger dexterity, ability to speak and hear.
2. Able to lift and carry in excess of 25 pounds, which may require pushing, pulling and essentially utilizing a full range of body movement.
3. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp and stand for extended periods of time.
