Job summary

OpenDoors of Rhode Island is seeking a full-time Job Coach/Employment Specialist to support justice-involved individuals and those experiencing homelessness. The role is based at the Resource Center in Silverlake, with regular visits to shelters in Pawtucket and Woonsocket to connect people with employment opportunities and essential services.

The selected candidate will help participants develop resumes, access benefits, and navigate job portals, while documenting progress and collaborating

Qualifications

• Experience delivering social services to similar populations.
• Ability to quickly create a resume.
• Excellent customer service and communication in challenging environments.
• Spanish language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess participant skills and needs for SNAP E&T program serving justice-involved people.
• Meet at least monthly in a one-on-one with each participant.
• Complete weekly case notes for each client.
• Assist participant in obtaining benefits and connecting with community resources.
• Help participants learn to build a resume and search for job opportunities.
• Prepare participants for job interviews and discuss criminal record history.
• Assist participants with online job applications and employer connections.
• Network with community partners to develop opportunities and OpenDoors employer network.
• Provide bus passes to qualifying participants.
• Connect clients to non-OpenDoors programs for employment support.
• Coordinate with probation/parole as needed.
• Track progress, status, and outcomes for SNAP E&T participants.
