Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management is seeking a Reefer Technician to repair and maintain reefer units at the Martin Brower facility in McCook, IL. Full-Time shift, Monday-Thursday, 5:00AM-3:30PM with pay between $36.00-$43.60 per hour based on skills.

Required: High School/GED with 3+ years related experience, valid driver's license and DOT-appropriate record, and your own tools. Preferred: Technical School certification. Benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision, 401K, life insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED with 3+ years of related experience.
• Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit; regularly lift up to 50lbs and occasionally 100lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record per DOT regulations.
• Must possess own tools (minimum tool requirement).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair motor trucks and trailer equipment.
• Test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic test equipment.
• Interpret complex schematics for refrigeration and air conditioning; identify warrantable repairs and document them.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and support preventative maintenance; verify dimensions and clearances per factory specs.
• Use hand and power tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair motor trucks and trailer equipment
• Test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic test equipment
• Interpret complex schematics associated with refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, identify warrantable repairs, and document them on the repair order
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions, provide additional support for preventative maintenance on tractor trailers, and inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
• Use hand tools such as screwdrivers and pliers, as well as power tools
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Education or General Education Degree with 3 plus years of related experience
• The ability to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit and also regularly lift or move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100lbs
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement)
