Job summary

City of St. Peters, MO seeks a Recycling Sorter to contribute to sorting recyclable materials, ensuring quality, and maintaining a clean work area. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate related equipment. Must lift up to 50 lbs and work with attention to detail.

Normal shift is Mon-Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm with some holidays and weekends. Benefits include retirement plans, paid holidays, health coverage, and tuition reimbursement as part of a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the US.
• High School graduate or GED.
• Ability to operate applicable equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs consistently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Sort materials into appropriate categories and ensure accurate classification.
• Quality control to maintain premium grades of baled products.
• Operate within a continuous feed conveyor system and monitor performance.
• Maintain accurate records of sorting activities.
• Report any quality concerns to supervisors.
• Keep the facility clean and orderly, following housekeeping procedures.
