Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking individuals to perform semi-skilled work at the Material Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders and forklifts, loading recyclables, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have satisfactory driving and safety records.
• Valid Driver’s License in North Carolina or another state.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• Experience as a mechanic and NC CDL (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled work operating front-end loader, skid steer, and forklift at the city's Material Recovery Facility.
• Load recyclables onto conveyors, balance, dump recycling baskets.
• Operate rotary broom to sweep and scrub tipping floor.

Skills
