Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a maintenance and materials handling professional to operate heavy equipment, loaders, and forklifts in a recycling and sorting environment. You will work on conveyors, balers, and roll-offs while maintaining safety and efficiency on site.

Responsibilities include loading materials, performing pre-trip inspections, and communicating with the team via radio. A valid CDL and NC driver’s license are preferred; high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid Driver’s License in NC or another state.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Familiarity with OSHA and safety policies a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy machinery and loaders for recycling processes.
• Load recyclables, scrap, and materials into conveyors and balers.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and basic maintenance.
• Use handheld radio for communication and coordinate with team.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and City policies.
