Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Materials Recovery Facility Worker to keep the facility running smoothly by directing trucks, sorting recyclables, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. You will handle various materials, follow safety rules, and support a community-focused recycling program.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform medium work and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to read and follow safety regulations.
• Ability to communicate and follow directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Directs traffic and guides truck operator to tipping floor areas.
• Separates recycling materials by type (cardboard, wood, metal, glass, plastics, aluminum).
• Identifies and separates usable cardboard.
• Assists with tipping floor traffic management.
• Receives recycling tickets from drivers.
• Cleans tipping floor, bathrooms, breakrooms, offices, pits and cat walks; removes litter outside facility.
• Unloads/weights/stacks electronic and other recyclables.
• Adheres to OSHA and city safety standards and policies.
