Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Materials Recovery Facility Worker at our Jamestown, NC facility. You will direct truck movement on the tipping floor, sort recyclables by material type, and keep the work area clean and safe to support environmental stewardship.

Ideal candidates will meet physical requirements, understand safety regulations, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits and requires adherence to city policies.

Qualifications

• Must meet physical requirements and safety standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and work in a waste/recycling environment.
• Must read and follow safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Directs traffic and guides truck operators on the tipping floor.
• Sorts recycling materials by type (cardboard, metal, paper, glass, plastics).
• Cleans tipping floor, office areas and surrounding spaces.
• Receives, weighs, and stacks recyclable materials.
• Ensures OSHA compliance and safety policies are followed.
