Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking individuals to perform semi-skilled work at the Material Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders and forklifts, loading recyclables, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a mechanic and NC CDL (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate rotary broom to sweep and scrub tipping floor.

Compensation

Salary range: $18.05 - $23.13 per hour.

Responsibilities

Perform semi‑skilled work operating front‑end loader, skid steer, and forklift at the city's Material Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include loading recyclables onto conveyors, balancing, dumping recycling baskets, loading scrap metal, white goods, and glass into roll‑offs, operating rotary broom to sweep and scrub tipping floor, transporting and loading bales of recyclables onto semi‑trailers, checking residual baskets, performing equipment servicing including greasing and filter blow‑outs, and assisting on sorting line as needed.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more with assistance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have satisfactory driving and safety records.
• Valid Driver’s License in North Carolina or another state.
