Job summary

TEMPO Employment Services in Presque Isle, ME is seeking a Recruiting & Placement Coordinator who is outgoing, tech-savvy, and highly organized to join our recruiting and placement team. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, payroll, or office administration preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to build rapport with a wide variety of people.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software, systems, and digital tools.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling information.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, respond to questions, take messages, and greet visitors.
  • Contact applicants to discuss employment history, skills, availability, transportation, schedule preferences, and goals.
  • Conduct initial recruiting calls and ask follow-up questions to assess fit.
  • Review applications and resumes to identify potential matches for openings.
  • Document conversations and maintain accurate information in the recruiting system.
  • Share qualified matches with the recruiting team and assist with presenting candidates to clients.
  • Schedule screenings, interviews, orientations, and other employment-related appointments.
  • Follow up with applicants on missing information, documents, opportunities, and next steps.
  • Collect and track timecards and ensure submissions are complete.
  • Assist employees with hiring, payroll, tax, direct-deposit, and personnel paperwork.

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Pay: $17.00-$19.00/hr.

Position Summary

TEMPO Employment Services is seeking an outgoing, tech-savvy, and highly organized Recruiting & Placement Coordinatorto become an integral part of our recruiting and placement team.

This position combines applicant communication, recruiting support, employee paperwork, payroll administration, and daily office coordination. The ideal candidate will have a strong personality, enjoy working with people, and be able to multitask in a busy office environment.

This person must be able to build rapport with applicants, ask thoughtful follow-up questions, read between the lines, and realistically assess whether an applicant’s skills, experience, availability, and expectations align with available job opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to general questions, take accurate messages, and welcome office visitors.
  • Contact applicants to discuss their employment history, skills, availability, transportation, schedule preferences, and employment goals.
  • Conduct initial recruiting calls and ask appropriate follow-up questions to gain a realistic understanding of each applicant.
  • Review applications and resumes and identify potential matches for current job openings.
  • Document applicant conversations and maintain accurate information in the recruiting system.
  • Share qualified applicant matches with the recruiting team and assist with presenting candidates to clients.
  • Schedule screenings, interviews, orientations, and other employment-related appointments.
  • Follow up with applicants regarding missing information, required documents, job opportunities, and next steps.
  • Collect and track employee timecards and follow up on missing or incomplete submissions.
  • Assist employees with completing hiring, payroll, tax, direct-deposit, and personnel paperwork.
  • Review paperwork for completeness and upload employee documents into Paycor.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper personnel files.
  • Update Paycor and recruiting systems when employees are hired, placed, terminated, or otherwise change status.
  • Inactivate employee files and complete required system updates when employment ends.
  • Assist applicants and employees with online forms and basic technology questions.
  • Support general office organization, supplies, filing, correspondence, and other team projects.
  • Help maintain a professional and welcoming office environment, including caring for office plants.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in recruiting, staffing, human resources, customer service, payroll, or office administration is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outgoing personality and the ability to build rapport with a wide variety of people.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions and use sound judgment when evaluating applicant qualifications and job fit.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new software, systems, and digital tools.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to manage interruptions and shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to take initiative.
  • Team-oriented and willing to assist wherever support is needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling applicant, employee, payroll, and client information.
  • Experience with Paycor or another payroll, applicant tracking, or human resources system is helpful but not required.
