Job summary

Hex is seeking a Recruiting Operations Manager in New York to own the hiring system—data, workflows, and tech stack—with automation to free recruiters for judgment and relationships. You’ll build scalable processes, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows, working with Finance, People, and Data to align headcount and pipeline.

Lead interviewer training, adopt new tools, and ensure a fast, human candidate experience while maintaining governance and measurable lift across the function.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in recruiting operations, talent ops, or analytics at a high-growth company.
• Hands-on expertise with an ATS (ideally Ashby) as an admin and workflow builder.
• Strong analytical skills with dashboards and funnel metrics; SQL is a plus.
• Experience building internal tools and automations to scale processes.
• Track record turning manual processes into adopted, documented workflows.
• Experience implementing AI-powered recruiting automation and governance.
• Ability to partner with recruiters, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams.
• Bias to action with ambiguity; capable of shaping the function's playbook.

Responsibilities

• Architect the system: manage ATS, sourcing, scheduling, assessment tools, and integrations.
• Design and improve hiring workflows from intake to close, automating where possible.
• Decide build vs buy, and consolidate vs keep items in the tech stack.
• Own data: define dashboards, hygiene, and forecasting with Finance and People.
• Ship AI and automation with architecture behind it and guardrails.
• Run experiments: test sourcing, interview structures, and automation impact.
• Lead interviewer training and consistency programs to raise the bar.
• Protect candidate experience with SLAs, comms cadences, and feedback loops.
