Job summary

MegaKC is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Coordinator to join our employee-owned general contracting team in Kansas City. The role focuses on recruiting and onboarding, helping bring field and craft workers, project professionals, and administrative staff on board.

You’ll partner with managers, manage candidate pipelines, coordinate onboarding, answer benefits questions, maintain records, and support HR compliance and process improvements as MegaKC grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years HR experience including recruiting and onboarding.
• Knowledge of benefits, employment laws, and HR compliance.
• Strong communication, organization, and confidentiality.
• Experience with HRIS/ATS and Microsoft Office.
• Construction or trades experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage recruiting activities from posting to screening, interviews, offers, and pre-employment requirements.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and build candidate pipelines.
• Coordinate onboarding from accepted offer through orientation and the introductory period.
• Help ensure every new employee-owner has an organized, welcoming start.
• Serve as a resource for routine employee questions related to benefits, ESOP, policies, time off, and HR processes.
• Assist with benefits administration, performance and development processes, employee engagement, leave, and workers’ compensation documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and support HR compliance, reporting, training, and other people-related initiatives.
• Help improve HR processes as MegaKC continues to grow.
