Job summary

Behavioral Health Allies seeks a motivated Recruiter to join our HR team in Kansas City to manage high-volume hiring across direct care, clinical, and professional roles. You will build strong candidate pipelines and ensure an excellent candidate experience.

You will partner with hiring managers, conduct interviews, coordinate offers, and monitor recruitment metrics while maintaining compliance and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in high-volume settings.
  • Experience recruiting healthcare/behavioral health or mission-driven orgs.
  • Proficient in applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms.

Description

Behavioral Health Allies is seeking a motivated and organized Recruiter to join our HR team. This position is responsible for managing high-volume recruitment for both direct care, clinical, and professional positions, identifying qualified candidates, conducting interviews, coordinating the hiring process, and providing an excellent candidate experience. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong communication, organization, proactive sourcing skills, and the ability to manage multiple recruitment priorities at once. We are looking for a Recruiter who is proactive, organized, relationship-focused, and results-oriented. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a high-volume environment, knows how to build strong candidate pipelines, and is passionate about connecting talented individuals with meaningful opportunities to support people with disabilities and behavioral health needs.

The Recruiter will support hiring for all positions in the organization such as Direct Support Professionals, Behavioral Technicians, drivers, paraprofessionals, BCBAs, teachers, Speech-Language Pathologists, therapists, program managers, and other professional and leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage recruitment pipelines for high-volume direct care and professional/clinical positions.
  • Source qualified candidates through job boards, professional networks, referrals, community partnerships, career fairs, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review applications and conduct initial and behavioral-based interviews.
  • Evaluate candidates based on qualifications, competencies, job readiness, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Partner with hiring managers and leadership throughout the interview and selection process.
  • Coordinate interviews, communicate next steps, and maintain consistent candidate follow-up.
  • Prepare and communicate employment offers in accordance with approved compensation guidelines.
  • Collect and track required pre-employment documentation, including background checks, driver's license verification, professional licenses/certifications, education verification, and other required employment forms.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruitment records in the applicant tracking system and HRIS.
  • Ensure recruitment activities comply with applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide a professional, responsive, and welcoming candidate experience from application through transition to onboarding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, universities, professional associations, and other talent sources.
  • Track recruitment metrics such as open positions, applicant flow, candidate pipelines, and time-to-hire.
  • Provide recruitment updates and reports to HR and organizational leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment strategies, processes, and hiring efficiency.
  • Assist with recruitment campaigns, job advertising, workforce planning, and other HR initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience recruiting for healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or other mission-driven organizations preferred.
  • Experience recruiting clinical, licensed, or specialized professionals preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems and recruitment platforms.
  • HRIS experience preferred; Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • Strong behavioral-based interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions and hiring timelines simultaneously.
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruitment technology.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with hiring managers and HR leadership.

Starting Pay:

Our compensation is competitive within the market. The minimum salary for this position begins at $58,656 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications. There may be potential for performance based incentives.
