Job summary

Providence PACE is a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly that delivers therapeutic recreation and activity programs to help older adults stay active and engaged in their communities. The role supports interdisciplinary care planning and leads community-wide participant-centered events with a focus on person-centered care.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy, BLS certification within 30 days of hire, Washington Registration, and CTRS certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy.
• Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Upon hire: Washington Recreational Therapist Registration.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from NCTRC.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants.

$10,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates that meet required qualifications and conditions for payment.

Schedule

24 hours/week - Working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday on day shift

The Recreational Therapist provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants. Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants' individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning. Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants. Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities. Leads facility-wide participant-centered events.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
