Job summary

Providence PACE in Washington is seeking a Recreational Therapist to develop and implement a diverse program of social, recreational, and diversional activities for participants.

You will assess individual interests, coordinate documentation, participate in interdisciplinary care planning, train volunteers, and lead facility-wide events to empower elders to stay active and independent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy is required.
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
  • Upon hire: Washington Recreational Therapist Registration.
  • CTRS certification from NCTRC is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional activities.
  • Perform individual assessment to identify participant interests/needs and develop activity plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and coordinate recreation documentation for assigned group.
  • Assist with training and supervising volunteers/youth interns and their activities.
  • Lead facility-wide participant-centered events.

Washington Recreational Therapist Registration

Description

The Recreational Therapist provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants. Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants' individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning. Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants. Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities. Leads facility-wide participant-centered events.

Schedule

24 hours/week - Working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday on day shift

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy.
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire: Washington Recreational Therapist Registration
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years providing recreation with the elderly or disabled.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
