Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Recreational Therapist for the Inpatient Rehab Unit. This part-time role (20 hours weekly) runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The therapist plans and executes medically prescribed recreational therapy programs tailored to patients’ diagnoses, acuity, and functional levels in a collaborative care setting. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field, CTRS certification, and BLS within 90

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required.
• CTRS certification required or pending.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements medically prescribed recreational therapy program based on diagnosis and function.
• Performs in-depth patient evaluations using assessment tools to identify cognitive, social, emotional and motor function for leisure participation.
• Implements treatment programs through leisure education, adaptive equipment and activity analysis.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $59,592.00 - $94,868.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
