Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a part-time Recreational Therapist for the Inpatient Rehab Unit. The role supports patient care with a medically prescribed therapy plan, evaluating cognitive, social, emotional, and motor functions to enable leisure participation.

Responsibilities include planning treatment programs using leisure education, adaptive equipment, and activity analysis, with a focus on improving functional outcomes for rehab patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• CTRS certification or eligible in Therapeutic Recreation.
• BLS certification within 90 days of start date.
• At least 1 year related experience in rehab or therapy.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement medically prescribed recreational therapy for rehab inpatients.
• Conduct in-depth patient evaluations using diverse assessment tools to guide therapy.
• Deliver treatment programs via leisure education, adaptive equipment, and activity analysis.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $59,592.00 - $94,868.80 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
