Job summary

The City of Galt is seeking a temporary Recreation Worker II for Basketball Season. The season runs through October 2026 - February 2027, with shifts primarily on weeknights and weekends, starting as early as 4:00 PM on weekdays and 7:30 AM on weekends.

Under direct supervision, this role performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in recreation, assisting in program operations, supporting staff, and engaging with the public to ensure safe, engaging activities for the community

Qualifications

• Some experience in recreation work or directing group activities is highly desirable.
• Must be at least sixteen (16) years old and able to obtain a work permit if under 18.

Responsibilities

• Recreation: conducts or assists in organizing community recreation programs, sports, and special events.
• Assist in operations of a community program and/or gymnasium facility.
• Provide support services to department staff.
• Interact and communicate with the public.
• Promote a safe environment for staff and patrons.
• Perform office and computer tasks and other related duties.
• Program areas include sports, crafts, special events, day camps, concession cashiering and facility cleaning.
