City of Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a Recreation Specialist to supervise staff and coordinate athletic and recreational programs across recreation centers and athletic facilities. You will manage registrations, schedules, budgets, and program outcomes, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Recreation/Physical Education/Sports Management, relevant experience, and CPR/First Aid certifications within six months.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management, or a closely related field.
• One year of experience in recreation/athletic program development and management.
• Budget development and supervision experience.
• Must possess and maintain CPR & First Aid Certifications within six months of employment.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates staff; conducts performance appraisals.
• Coordinates daily work activities; assigns tasks and monitors progress.
• Monitors participation and attendance in programs.
• Ensures compliance with codes, laws, safety standards, and procedures.
• Plans and implements athletic/recreation programs and schedules leagues, classes and tournaments.
• Prepares budgets, payroll reports, invoices and financial records.
