The City of Suffolk is seeking a Recreation Leader to assist in implementing and leading recreation programs and activities within Parks and Recreation facilities. You will supervise programs, events, and classes, and help with planning committees.

Strong communication and customer service skills are essential. Responsibilities include participant registration, equipment handling, and assisting with special events.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• CPR & First Aid certifications must be obtained within six months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Mansioni

• Interact with the general public in person and by phone; provide information about programs and activities; register participants; issue and check membership cards; receive fees; enforce facility rules.
• Set up and take down equipment; maintain and inventory equipment; issue athletic equipment to participants.
• Lead crafts, games and other activities for children; participate in programs, classes, activities and events.
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining the facility; perform routine administrative tasks and data entry.
• Provide input regarding programs, participants, and volunteers; communicate with supervisors and other departments; attend required meetings.
