Job summary

City of Suffolk – Parks & Recreation is seeking a Fitness Supervisor to plan and coordinate fitness programs at Recreation Centers, supervise staff and participants, and ensure safe workout practices. The role includes equipment orientations, revenue handling, and budget administration.

Qualified candidates will have a science degree in exercise-related field and industry certifications, with at least two years of fitness experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine or related field.
• Fitness Trainer certifications from ACSM, AEA, NSCA, or IFPA within 6 months of employment.
• 2 years of relevant experience in the fitness industry; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Conducts fitness equipment orientations and supervises participants to ensure safe workout practices.
• Trains staff on safe workout practices and equipment orientation delivery.
• Prepares and distributes statistical reports on facility usage.
• Records revenue and deposits while administering the facility budget.
