Job summary

Eaton Area Park & Recreation District is seeking a Recreation Coordinator, General Programming to develop, coordinate, implement, supervise, and evaluate a variety of recreation programs, events, and the district's school-age day camp program.

You will oversee staff, manage budgets, and build partnerships to deliver high-quality opportunities for youth, families, and the community, while aligning with district mission and goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation administration, parks and recreation, education, or a related field.
• One to three years of progressively responsible experience in recreation programming, youth programming, special events, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, supervises, and evaluates recreation programs, classes, activities, and services for youth, teens, adults, and families.
• Evaluates existing programs and identifies opportunities for new or expanded programs based on participation trends and community needs.
• Develops program schedules, registration information, staffing plans, supply needs, and operational procedures.
• Monitors program participation, revenues, expenses, and other performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Coordinates scheduling and use of District facilities and program spaces in collaboration with District staff.
• Maintains program supplies and equipment and coordinates purchasing within budgets.
• Coordinates and oversees the District's state-licensed school-age day camp program.
• Maintains knowledge of Colorado licensing requirements and ensures compliance.
• Recruits, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates seasonal camp staff.
• Conducts comprehensive staff training to promote safety and high-quality camper experience.
• Serves as a primary District contact for licensing specialists and coordinates inspections and actions as necessary.
• Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates District special events and community activities.
• Coordinates event logistics including budgets, vendors, permits, staffing, volunteers, equipment, and operations.
• Collaborates with District staff and partners to develop new events and enhance existing events.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate part-time and seasonal employees.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Promotes a positive customer-focused work environment.
• Coordinate and supervise volunteers and contractors as assigned.
