Job summary

City of Eaton Rapids is seeking a Program Coordinator to manage parks, recreation and city-wide events. You will schedule leagues, supervise staff, and report on program activity while collaborating with the Director of Parks, Recreation & Events.

This role requires evening/weekend availability and strong safety awareness. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and experience with children, plus solid communication and supervision skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; college coursework related to Sport Management, Public Administration, or Community Development preferred.
• Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and good record; background checks required.
• Experience working with children is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience in supervision is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is expected.
• Experience with Adobe, Photoshop, and Canva is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to obtain a Michigan Chauffer's License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate parks, recreation and event activities and set sports/event schedules.
• Oversee referees and supervise outdoor recreation center staff.
• Provide reports to the Director on ongoing activities.
• Assist in planning and distribution of marketing information.
• Assist in grant applications and fundraising efforts.
• Coordinate and approve rental/reservation of facilities.
