Job summary

Manatee County Government is seeking an on-site Recreation Attendant at Premier Sports Complex North in Lakewood Ranch, FL. The role includes front desk duties, program assistance, registrations, and facility maintenance, with varied hours and potential weekend work.

Minimum qualifications include high school graduation, 1+ year recreation experience, CPR/First Aid certification (or within 30 days), and a valid Florida driver’s license (within 30 days).

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• One or more years of work experience in recreation or related area.
• Community CPR and First Aid certifications required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• If supervising children, Level 2 Background check within 30 days of hire.
• If fitness program, personal training certification within six months of hire.
• If front desk, customer service and cash handling experience required.
• Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assists with operations and activities of assigned recreation program area.
• Assists with a wide variety of events, classes, and programs and ensures facilities are properly maintained.
• Front Desk duties: in person customer service, cash handling and answering a high volume of calls.
• Assists with recreation facility rentals and provides tours and information to prospective renters.
• Responds to questions and concerns from patrons and resolves problems or refers to supervisor.
• Participates in community outreach to promote recreation programs.
• Provides excellent customer service at all times.
• Maintains safety procedures to protect staff and the public.
• Assists with daily, monthly, and annual maintenance of facilities and with reporting and data analysis.
• Attends job-specific training classes and participates in emergency or disaster response as required.

Education

Associates degree in recreation, education, business, public administration, or related field
