Salary: $13.00/hr. minimum
To lead participants in a variety of recreational activities; to supervise the use of equipment and supplies; to enforce the rules and regulations of the Recreation Center; and to assist in organizing and implementing activities for the Adults 50+.

SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by a Senior Program Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
- 2. Assist in the provision of nutrition and transportation services to senior citizens.
- 3. May assist in preparing various reports on senior center operations and activities.
- 4. Conduct daily recreational activities such as games, exercise, arts and crafts classes and other special events for program participants.
- 5. Maintain inventory control on equipment and supplies; maintain an accurate and current listing of users.
- 6. Observe safety precautions; correct minor safety problems; conduct activities in a safe manner.
- 7. Issue participation cards and collect fees for class registration.
- 8. Assist patrons with questions; answer phones and help walk in customers.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Plan and participate in special events or projects.
- 2. Attend workshops, seminars and classes as required.
- 3. Depending on assignment, may drive City vehicles to transport senior adults.
- 4. Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5. Perform data entry into various software programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED. No experience required; however, experience with senior citizens in leading educational or recreation programs is preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 90 days of employment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment. Failure to obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment will result in non-disciplinary termination.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Flexible work schedule, 15-20 hours per week.
- Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
- May occasionally work evenings or weekends.
