Job summary

Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation is seeking a seasoned Recreation Center Supervisor to plan, organize, direct, and review year‑round programs and facility operations. You will supervise permanent and seasonal staff, manage budget, and engage the community to expand offerings and maximize facility usage.

The role requires developing policies, maintaining records, and ensuring safe, equitable access for all participants, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of community recreation program planning, development and administration.
• Experience supervising staff including training, assignment, review and evaluation.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and build trust across groups.
• Budget development and financial record keeping basics.
• Public information and media relations basics.
• Basic computer skills for office tasks.
• Plan, organize, direct and evaluate staff work.
• Train others in procedures and policies.
• Interpret and explain laws, policies, and regulations to staff and public.
• Set priorities and coordinate multiple projects and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and review work of permanent and seasonal staff.
