Job summary

Washtenaw County Health Department seeks an experienced Recreation Center Supervisor to oversee the Meri Lou Muray Rec Center operations year-round, ensuring equitable and inclusive programs and services for Washtenaw County residents.

Responsibilities include directing permanent and seasonal staff, budgeting, coordinating activities, engaging community partners, and maintaining facilities and safety. Evening, weekend, and holiday coverage is required to ensure a supervisory presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in recreation management, park administration, business or public administration.
• Five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in recreation or leisure services.
• Experience developing and administering budgets for facilities and programs.
• Ability to build authentic relationships with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and review operation and maintenance of the Recreation Center.
• Hire and supervise part-time staff; evaluate full-time staff.
• Develop and administer budgets; manage facility revenues.
• Engage community to develop programming and rentals.
• Ensure safety and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
