Job summary

Oakland County Parks and Recreation is seeking a motivated supervisor to oversee part-time and seasonal staff at park facilities, ensuring program delivery, safety compliance, and excellent customer service. The role includes staff scheduling, program coordination, and daily cash handling to support park operations and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years old.
• Six months of supervisory or administrative experience in a park/recreation setting; or leadership in civic/school clubs/sports teams.
• Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Responsibilities

• Respond to park patron inquiries in person, by phone, or by mail.
• Coordinate scheduling for part-time staff and volunteers.
• Oversee cash operations, deposits, and daily revenue reports.
• Assist in development and implementation of recreational programs.
• Ensure safety and maintenance standards are upheld at park facilities.
• Train and supervise part-time staff and volunteers during programs and events.
• Use county software to complete assignments.
