Job summary

Park District of La Grange is seeking a part-time Manager on Duty (MOD) in La Grange, IL. The MOD supervises patrons, staff, and rentals during evening and weekend shifts, ensuring programs run smoothly and safety policies are followed.

The role requires strong customer service, supervisory experience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced recreation environment. Hourly wage is $17.00–$18.00, with DOQ.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in recreation, hospitality, business, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recreation, hospitality, customer service, or a related field.
• Previous supervisory or lead staff experience is strongly preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within six months of hire.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons and renters, directing them to needed services.
• Know the daily schedule and set up rooms per maintenance needs.
• Lock/unlock rooms between programs and events as required.
• Act as primary contact for building when no full-time staff is present.
• Respond to renters' needs and resolve issues during shift.
• Provide end-of-shift reports to appropriate full-time staff.
